Morecambe BayPosted by John Leech (Grange-over-Sands, United Kingdom) on 27 March 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. The channels are constantly changing, I've not noticed this wide sweeping s-bend before. The diffused light was very inviting. I'm sure most visitors to my pages will be familiar with Ian Bramham's photography Ian Bramham. I've followed his emerging talent since he first bought a DSLR - not that his talent took long to emerge. I'm sure any viewers who have not seen his work will appreciate this link.

marie from perth, AustraliaHi this photo (well the name of this photo) brings back memories for me, I used to holiday in Morecambe with relatives when I was a little one, what a great place, your photo is stunning, and black and white looks awesome. 27 Mar 2009 6:40am @marie: Thanks Marie - Morecambe is almost visible to the right horizon here - the shot is taken from Grange over Sands. Morecambe is in a transitional time at present. There has been a lot of investment along the prom which is looking in very good shape, though it certainly has an image problem having lived for so long as being a poor relation to Blackpool. Both are great photographic locations at present. Ian Bramham from Manchester, United KingdomI used up all my superlatives on yesterdays photo John.....you already know that I think this is brilliant and one of the best UK landscape photos I've seen from anybody - Kenna and Brandt included. 27 Mar 2009 8:14am @Ian Bramham: Thanks Ian - I struggle to handle compliments like that! Its certainly a fave for me, I was going to email you when I first posted it on flickr to see what you would make of it. I've had a crazy week and still behind with work, but trying to catch up on some images on here before I start for another crazy day. Pavan Kaul from Mumbai, IndiaWhat a stunning image! Composition and contrast, come together so perfectly in this superb landscape! 27 Mar 2009 10:56am mo.langel from Courtelary, SwitzerlandTrès élégante composition, excellent N&B!!! 27 Mar 2009 10:59am hugo poon from hong kong, Hong KongYes, this is one of my favourite landscape shots in quite a while! Every element - from subject to form, tone, lighting, composition and atmosphere - is just amazing! Wonderful work John!:-) 27 Mar 2009 3:50pm @hugo poon: I'm fortunate to look out onto this ever changing scene - though it is surprising how fast the light changes. I see light and dash to set my camera up - but so often miss the moment. This one was steady diffused light for most of the day, but had that awesome stomach feeling then it lit the bend. Anna.C from LA ROCHELLE, Francewow ! wonderful landscape ! I love the strong contrast and the differents gre y layers in the background, great mood and lighting ! 27 Mar 2009 6:12pm @Anna.C: Thanks Anna, this day was special.
